SAYUR ASAM (TAMARIND VEGETABLE)
Tamarind vegetable is a typical vegetable dishes, especially in Java, Central Java and Sunda. Characteristic of this vegetable taste depending on the region. Tamarind vegetable
in Central Java usually use pieces of green chilies while in Sunda usually use red chilli blended with other spices. Sweet, sour and spicy taste of vegetable from tamarind vegetable made into one vegetable that really delicious dishes for our family. Here is recipe to make tamarind vegetable :
- Ingredients :
- Chayote
- Long beans
- Leaves so
- Melinjo
- Papaya
- Jackfruit
- Corn
- Peanuts
- Seasoning :
- Tamarind
- Onion
- Garlic
- Salt
- Sugar
- Bay leaf
- Galangal
- Cut the chayote and papaya cubes, jackfruit and corn then wash thoroughly and soak into the water so that the sap in papaya, chayote and jackfruit missing.
- Soak the peanuts for approximately 10 minutes.
- Heat the water in the pan, boil 3 glasses of water and then enter the corn, chayote, papaya, melinjo and jackfruit.
- Rinse tamarind, bay leaves and galangal then insert it into the pan. Add sugar to taste.
- Peel and wash the onion and garlic and puree using a mortar and pestle. Add salt and puree until the salt is mixed with the spice paste earlier.
- Enter the spice paste to the pan before.
- After 15-20 minutes then enter the long beans and leaves so.
- Wait for about 10-15 minutes, after boiling and then lift the vegetables.
- TAmarind vegetable ready to serve.
Take tamarind
vegetable in a bowl and then sprinkle over the top of vegetable with
fried onion to make this vegetable more delicious. This dishes will be more delicious when combined with tomato sauce or chili shrimp paste according to our tastes.
