OPOR AYAM

OPOR AYAM 
          "Opor Ayam" is one of processed food made from chicken. The taste of  "opor ayam" is derived from spices and coconut milk are processed into one, giving rise to savory flavors (salty and sweet). Various materials are often combined with chicken when making "opor ayam" like potatoes, tofu, tempeh and egg. Selection of these alloys depends on the tastes of each family, but most mothers cooking is combined with egg. "Opor ayam" is a typical menu frequently in cooking when Eid Mubarak. Here is recipe to make "opor ayam" : 


  • Ingredients :
  1. Chicken 
  2. Vegetables Oil 
  3. Coconut milk  
  •  Seasoning : 
  1. Onion 
  2. Garlic
  3. Gallangal
  4. Bay leaf
  5. Candlenut
  6. Lemon grass
  7. Coriander 
  8. Palm sugar  
  9. Cummin 
  10. Salt 
  11. Pepper 
  12. Turmeric 
  13. Lime 
How to make : 
  1. Cut the chicken (depending on individual taste)  and then wash the chicken and give a little squeeze of lime to reduce the fishy smell contained in chickens. 
  2. After that, puree onion, garlic, candlenut, coriander, cummin, salt, pepper, and turmeric. Stir-fry the spice paste was added to the oil and then stir-fry until it's smell.
  3. Boil the coconut milk into the pan. After the coconut milk is boiling, enter the spice earlier sauteed along with the bay leaves, palm sugar, galangal and lemongrass. Enter the chicken into the pan. For approximately 30 minutes then pour the coconut milk into a pan. Stir gently so as not to break the coconut milk. Wait until the chicken is cooked and tender 
  4. Fry the onion for sprinkled on "opor ayam" when served. 
 Serving suggestion : 
          Pour the  "opor ayam" into a bowl and then sprinkle with fried shallots. "Opor ayam" will be more delicious when combined with tomato sauce or chili shrimp paste according to our tastes.
